The American Muslim Digest Newsletter
This newsletter was created for my Editorial Style course. We had wide latitude in choosing our topics; the only restriction was that the topic should not be about where we work. Requirements included a title and subhead, issue and volume number, editorial welcome, mission statement and editorial office information. We had the choice of producing all of our content or asking other writers to contribute. Part of the assignment was assume the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief with respect to recruiting contributing writers who would respect my editorial guidelines. Articles include Hijab: Liberating or Oppressive?, Point and Counterpoint articles about whether Pope Benedict XVI's comments were offensive to Muslims, as well as an article entitled Hip Hop Meets Globalization, which discusses the underground Arab/Muslim American hip hop scene.
